Hey folks
could one of you who can translate to English from German please tell me if this webpage http://wolf-pflanzenoel-technik.de/
talks about running Pump Deuse and Common rail Merc on ppo, I tried an online translation and this is the understanding I got but it would be great to get confirmation, and any other info on running Pump deuse and common rail systems on ppo would be most welcome too
Thanks in advance

Hi Chug,
Yes, the Wolf pages are about PD and CR. Wolf only do 1 Tank that means cost = 4000,- euros upwards i rekon. It is possible to run PD or CR on a 2 tank basis with much lower costs using http://www.monopoel.de/formular/2tank-poel.html for PD for example. CR do not like 100% PPO (in the lower rpm's 4 ex. during "idle running" (is that how u call it in th uk) and pduring partial load if i remembr right)all the time maybe this "mixingdevice" http://www.biotaxi-berlin...ng/computersteuerung.html or this http://www.dieselumbau.de..._SteuerungundRegelung.htm cld help.
R u buying a new car ?
Kind Regards
Michael

Thanks for the reply Michael,
I'm not buying a new car it's just for furthering of my own personal biofuel education, but all that I have read on PD and CR say that they cannot be run on PPO due to the high fuel system pressures involved and this webpage seems to say otherwise, I will have to try some online translation of those other webpages you mention.
Do you know of anyone two tanking PD or CR successfully?
And yes it is called running at idle in the UK

Hi Michael and Chug,
the second link you have showen is only for Common Rail's that have an own, mechanikal driven, trenfes pump. The fist link is only the computer and has not much to do with the kind of conversion.
All engines with direkt Injetion do not burn the ppo well at idle, it makes no difference between the tdi, PD or CR, the CR has other problems like it needs realy clean fuel an a high pressure before the fuel comes into the pump (so in needs a fuel transfer pump that makes enougt pressure and enoug l/h and that with ppo). The running on diesel in idle is much more important if you have a truck, tracktor oder combine. With a car it ist not that much important as you can see at that much cars that drive without the idle-circuit ind germany.
I've made a new homepage with a bit info's in english (we only do trucks and traktors), my ohter pag with a lot af info's is'nt translatet but maybe you watch it with a translationprogramm (www.oelmuehle-zerbst.de)
Wolf does very good one-tank system conversions, but it expensive. We have some Common Rail, Pumpe Düse, Pumpe-Pipe-Düse (Pump-Leitung-Düse), and Systems with the Bosch VP44 working on PPO since a long time, these systems are more difficult, but if you do it correct it works very well.

Hi Alex
thanks for the link to your webpages, I have looked at the english pdf but the translation website I used for the rest of your pages just gave me an error,
have you seen anyone or any websites who converted any PD or CR cars to ppo other than your tractors?
I found this page http://freenet-homepage.d.../sthl/poel/E/technikE.htm
which has some interesting points on newer injection systems
I am very interested to find more info and people who have experience converting PD or CR engines, as this seems to be the way modern diesel technology is headed and the old IDI engines will not be around forever (well maybe some mercs will eh!)
regards
Chug
