New Car: ready for biooil?

Hi all
A while back I read an article about driving on Salatöl / lettuce-oil (or whatever it is called in english) and I said to myself "if I ever buy a car it will drive on this!". And now it is almost that far: I'm going to buy a car: a brand new Citroën C3 (and if it's within my budget the Pluriël but probably not ;(
main question is: are new diesel-engines the same as 1995-engines? Or do they require a (whole?) different approach? (anf if yes: what, why & how?). And if there isn't any problem: must I first drive on Diesel for a while or can I put it on salatöl from day 1?
